@whyshouldaicareone AI disaster a day, and the fix

Privacy policy

WhyShouldAICare (@whyshouldaicare on Instagram) is run by an independent creator in Poland. Contact: whyshouldaicare@gmail.com. Effective 25 October 2026, updated 25 October 2026.

What we collect

When you comment a keyword (like KIT) under one of our reels, or send us a keyword in a direct message, our app reads it through Instagram's official API. For a keyword message it also asks Instagram one yes/no question: whether you follow @whyshouldaicare. For each keyword comment or message we keep: its ID, a one-way hash of your Instagram account ID, which reel or guide it was about, the date, and the outcome (asked to follow, guide sent, not following yet, failed). We do not store your username, your comment or message text, your follow status, or anything from your profile.

Why

Only to send you the guide you asked for (guides are for followers), to not answer you twice, and to count how many guides each reel brought (numbers, not people).

What we send you

For a keyword comment: one private message asking you to follow us and send the keyword in DM, and a short public reply under your comment. For a keyword DM: the guide as a card with a link, or, if you don't follow us yet, one line asking you to. Nothing else, unless you write to us.

Legal basis

Your request: you asked for the guide by commenting (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in not sending duplicates (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Who else sees it

We do not sell or share your data. Comments and messages are processed by Meta (Instagram) under its own privacy policy. The guide pages are hosted on Cloudflare, which may log standard request data such as IP addresses for security; we do not use those logs.

How long we keep it

90 days. After that the comment ID and the account hash are replaced by anonymous values, and only counts remain (for example: reel 5, guide sent, date). Your comment itself stays on Instagram until you delete it; that is Instagram's copy, not ours.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or object to the processing: write to whyshouldaicare@gmail.com or message @whyshouldaicare. We answer within 30 days. See the data deletion page for the simplest way. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Poland: UODO).

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be on this page with a new date.
